Shoals Area Crappie had their annual fun tournament/ cookout today on Cedar creek. This morning we started out wondering just how wet we may get a big band of rain was just west of us and about the time we got started the sprinkles started but that is all it did for about 5 minutes everybody stayed dry. The fish was a little hard to come by recent heavy rain had the water a little high and dingy but that did not stop our folks from bringing fish to the scales. This was a open tournament and we had a lot of visitors and this tournament was just a 4 hour tournament and winner take all. Taking 1st was Allen Hyde/ Daniel Cuningham  from Colbert Heights with a total weight of 5.18 way to go guys and glad ya came and fished with us. After weigh-in we got under the pavilion at slickrock and done what we do best EAT. We fried up some crappie, hush puppies and slaw and got after it. We thank Scott Echols of Hi-Tek rod holders for providing the fryer and cooking the food. After our meal we give out our end of the year awards and this is how it ended up.

1st place went to keil/Dodd with a total weight of 57.10 2nd went to Jonathan and Wayne Kirby 51.66 and 3rd went to Jimmy and David McCarley with 49.64. We pay out 2 places for big fish of the year and 1st went to Keil/Dodd with a 2.64 that came off Wheeler and 2nd went to Ray toggle with a 2.17 that came off Pickwick.

The club will have a few more open tournaments and our new year will begin in Jan. this time so come on out and fish with us and be a part of our club.
