Shoals Area Crappie Association



1.     Teams may have a third partner if third partner is 16 or under. Pole limits will remain the same 16 poles per team.

2.     You may enter alone or with a partner.

3.     Teams may start fishing at posted fishing times and must stop fishing at posted end time. Teams must be in weigh-in line no later than 1 hour after end time.

4.     Live and artificial bait may be used.

5.     Crappie must be hooked and landed with a rod or pole by team members(s).  Crappie must be hooked through the lip or in the mouth.

6.     Teams must comply with all state fishing and boating regulations, including the use of P.F.D.’s and kill switches.  Fishing and boating licenses are the responsibility of team members.

7.     A team cannot weigh-in more than 7 crappie and those 7 crappie must be alive when entering the official weigh-in line.

8.     All crappie brought to the scales for weigh-in must have been caught during the tournament hours from tournament waters by the team bringing them to the scales.

9.     All crappie presented for weight-in must meet state length requirements for state in which they are being weighed and may not have any weight enhancements.  Any team bringing an illegal crappie to the weigh-in line will be disqualified.

10.  In the case of a tie for a paying position a coin flip conducted by the tournament director will decide who wins.

11. If bad weather or dangerous water conditions exist tournament will be postponed to a later date.  This decision is up to the tournament director.  If you are unable to fish make up day entry fee will be returned.

12.   Payout is 100%. / 50% to 1st place/ 25% to second place/ 25% to big fish.

13.  Dues are $35.00 per year for 1st time members and $25.00 a year from then on.

14. Non-Members may fish 1 tournament without paying dues but must pay dues to fish a second tournament unless it is an open tournament.

15. Any paying member may fish with another paying member but the member’s boat that is used will receive the weight credit.  This is the wildcard rule and is mainly for those whose normal partner unable to fish that tournament.

16.  We have done away with the points system and the team of the year will be determined by the best 6 weights of the year.

17. Tournament entry fee will be $30.00 per team for regular tournaments and $50.00 for the classic.  The payout will be with 6 or more teams will be 1st place 50%/ 2nd place 25%/ Big fish 25%.  If less than 6 teams 1st place 75%/ Big fish 25%.

18.  All entry fees must be paid and an S.A.C.A. release form must be signed     before you can be a part of the tournament.  It is up to you to get the entry fee to the president of the club.

19. A team must fish 5 tournaments to quality for the CLASSIC. A team may pay for one tournament and not fish inorder to make the Classic.
