Shoals Crappie kicked off the 2016 season at Wheeler Lake this Saturday and what a day it was.  Rains & cold fronts prior to the tournament made for some pretty tough conditions.  The lake was extremely stained with a lot of current and the lake level was coming up all day.  But good news is most of the teams brought fish to the scales and this is how it all went down.  Team Keil & Dodd took 1st place weighing in 6 fish for a total weight of 9.69.  They were fishing in 10-12 foot of water over stumps flats.  They were using 14' BnM Crappie Poles lined with 6# Hi-Vis Vicious line.  Road Runner heads with Lake Fork live baby shad & Slider Crappie Jigs was bait of choice.  Color changed all day.  2nd place went to team Harris with a 7 fish limit of 8.07 who was long-lining over stump fields also using BnM Crappie Poles and Lake Fork Jigs.  3rd place went to Jimmy & Jonathan with a 7 fish limit of 7.92 who was pushing corks in 10-12' of water.  Finishing off the top 5 was 4th place Roger & Steve Echols with 7 fish at 7.69 and 5th place went to Kevin & Rick with a 7 fish limit of 7.48.  Big fish of the day went to Keith & Toby with a 2.70 slab.

We had a great turn out and the weather was great to be on the water and a BIG THANKS goes out to all our sponors:

BnM Crappie Poles, Vicious Line, Road Runner, Commit Game Calls, Lake Fork Tackle, Slider Crappie Jigs, Ego Nets and Tenn. Valley Marine.

Thank you for your support.  Thanks guys for another safe day.  See everybody at Guntersville in March.
